Common Body, a sculpture studio based in Los Angeles, is the creation of artist Nathaniel Kyung Smith. Working with materials such as ceramic, stone, plaster and beeswax, Common Body is a tactile exploration of symbolism, human connection, and shared experience—and finding balance with today's world.
"Making is a commitment to actuating the magic in one’s spirit," says Smith. This pair of sculptural stoneware clay candlestick holders, sold with two of the artist's own sculptural candles, was inspired by ancient indigenous artifacts and is created from locally sourced clay.
