These biscuits were introduced to us by our sister last week during quarantine. If you have been following along with our stories you will know that we are in London with our family in a FULL house!
It's a recipe we love to do with the little ones, not only are they insanely delicious, they are easy to make and provide endless room for creativity... We do suggest that you have basic moulds to get started, however look around your kitchen and be creative with what you can use to shape the dough and use your hands to get inspired...
VANILLA BISCUITS
Ingredients
Makes 24-30

350g Plain Flour

100g Self Raising Flour

125g of Granulated Sugar

125g of Salted Butter Diced
-
125g of Golden Syrup / or Honey

1 Large Egg
-
1 Tsp Vanilla Bean Extract
TIMING
Approx 40 - 60 mins

Prep 30 + mins

Bake 15 - 25 mins
PREP
- Sift flour in mixing bowl
- Add in sugar
- Mix
- Add in diced butter
- Mix + Rub mixture together with hands
- Mix until you have a “breadcrumb” texture
- When butter is evenly mixed in make a well in the center
- Add in syrup or honey, Vanilla extract and egg
- Mix with your hands for 3-4 mins to create the dough in a rounded shape
ROLL DOUGH + BAKE
- Take the dough out of the bowl
- Lightly sprinkle flour on your kitchen counter
- Roll dough on your counter using a rolling pin
- When dough is flat and thin, use moulds to create cookie shapes or experiment to create your own shapes
- You want the biscuits to be thinner vs thicker
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and leave shapes on the tray
- Bake in oven for 15-25 mins until the biscuits are golden
