Artist Spotlight: Devin Wilde

Vessel No. VII in Ivory By Devin Wilde

We’re excited to welcome Devin Wilde’s ceramic pieces to the ARJÉ world. Discovering Devin's work felt like uncovering a hidden gem. His ability to blend ancient forms with modern sensibilities creates a unique dialogue between form and function—something we deeply appreciate. Each piece in his collection adds depth and intrigue to any space, perfectly tying a room together. When we find an artist whose work provides that finishing touch, we know we’ve found something special.

Devin’s journey is as intriguing as his work. Based in Brooklyn, New York, he pursued architecture at Stanford University before dedicating himself full-time to ceramics. This shift allowed him to explore his passion for creating tactile art that plays with light and shadow. His architectural training brings a precision and intentionality to his ceramics, making each piece a harmonious blend of structure and artistry.

When we spoke with Devin, he shared, “The relationship between shape and shadow is key to my work. The geometric languages I develop are a careful marriage of form and function; they give structure to the forms, yes, but are primarily mechanisms for creating drama with light." This philosophy is evident in every piece, meticulously hand-crafted in his Red Hook studio, where he shapes, fires, and finishes each creation with exceptional care.
