Part of a limited series created exclusively for ARJÉ, this coiled and pinched stoneware vessel is a one-of-a-kind piece that brings an element of texture and shape to any space. Made-to-order by hand in Helena, Montana using few tools, each of Giselle Hick's graphic vessels are shaped, dried, fired; cooled, sanded, washed and glazed: you can see the resulting textures in the finished clay.
"I have always been interested in the domestic space and how our experiences within the home—a space of intimate exchange—affect and define how we live outside of our homes," says Hicks. This functional sphere, done in a matte Anthracite Black, measures nine inches by nine inches—perfectly sized for a bouquet of flowers, or as an accent piece alongside the rest of the series. "I want my work to be part of the beauty of people's everyday lives."
