Born in Adana, Turkey and now working from Montréal, Zeynep Boyan builds one-of-a-kind ceramic forms entirely by hand, using ancient pinching and coiling techniques to explore balance, tension, negative space and movement. We were drawn to the way her work feels both instinctive and deeply composed, with biomorphic shapes that seem to carry the simplicity of Mediterranean culture into the room, sitting somewhere between sculpture, furniture and functional object.
