Rebecca von Matérn works from her Stockholm studio, the same space once used by her grandfather, carrying his relationship with wood into paintings she builds slowly through layers of earth, amber and mineral color. We were drawn to the intimacy of that process, how she makes each wooden frame by hand so painting and object become one, creating works with a quiet depth that feels rooted in memory yet completely present in a room.
