We have always loved the honesty of solid wood, the weight of it in the hand, the grain left visible, and the way it becomes richer through use. In his Los Angeles studio, Peter De Jong of PARE works in oak and walnut to create furniture and objects for the daily life of a home, from stools and mills to serving boards and bowls, pieces whose simplicity leaves room for the material, the meal and the people around them to take over.
