Raised in Aix-en-Provence and now working from his Brooklyn studio, Danny Kaplan brings the pottery traditions of southern France into furniture with an almost surreal physicality. We were drawn to pieces like his Basket Chair and Organic Form Table, where hand-thrown stoneware becomes fully functional furniture, sculptural enough to command a room yet tactile, useful and full of the irregularities that make each one entirely its own.
