Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil to South Korean parents, Re Jin Lee makes ceramic pieces by hand in upstate New York, using a unique assembly of individually rolled out clay slabs and coils inspired by the contemplative process of ceramics, and a belief in simplicity.
"It’s fitting that pottery dates back to the beginning of our existence," she says. "Though I'm creating these large complicated sculptural pieces, I aspire to recreate the most basic, simplest, necessarily functional piece from the first time pottery was created."
This rounded glass-top coffee table, with a hand built sculptural ceramic base, centers a space, bringing a feeling of natural beauty and an added dimension into a room.
All works are made by hand, unique and one of a kind.
Avoid colored candles as the surface is susceptible to staining.
Minor flaking may occur due to the nature of the material.
